We had been given a glowing recommendation of Monica and The Unconditional Canine by a friend who had used her services for residency training. We cannot say enough good things about Monica. She is always prompt responding to requests for boarding, has always been flexible with her schedule to accommodate us, and has even gone so far as to send pictures to us of Joey while we are away. Her prices are so reasonable and we never have to pay extra for "play time" like all the other places charge. We know Joey is not locked in a pen/run all day with no contact with people or other dogs. Joey doesn't warm up to a lot of people, but he did with Monica. "I met Monica when I was at Amherst Animal hospital on a well visit for one of my dogs. She was the vet tech there and offered to board my Maltese while I went away for a weekend.I had two dogs and she took them both for me that weekend. The dogs came back well cared for and tired from all the fun they had while staying that weekend. I am not someone who normally passes on recommendations, however in the case of Monica and her Unconditional K-9 business I have passed on several recommendations, not only to family, but to several friends. They have all taken their 4 legged kids to Monica and each and every one of them have been so happy with the care of their dogs. I personally have a 3 year old Havanese, a 1 year old Havanese and a 8 month old Maltese puppy. They have all been going to Monica’s happy home since they were 12 weeks old and have been extremely well cared for. Before meeting Monica I was not someone that liked to go away that often because I could not stand the thought of leaving my 4 legged kids in a kennel. This is not a kennel!!! This is a home filled with love from people that care about your dogs as much As you do. "It's exciting to me how my outlook has changed since I met Monica! I have 3 rescue doodles and one is a seizure dog, another needs constant enforcement of training. With the issues of these two wonderful rescue babies, I have felt I couldn't leave them, so I do not make plans to be away, especially over night. Then I met Monica! "Monica is a female version of the dog whisperer. After getting our Bernese mountain dog I knew that this puppy needed to be well trained since his size would certainly become an issue when attempting to handle him. And after trying a puppy class at a local dog training center, it was clear to me that I was not succeeding in my desire to have a well trained/behaved dog. Since he was going to be a big dog I needed for him to accomplish four goals; He couldn't pull when on the leash walking, no begging for food at the dinner table, no jumping on visitors when they walked into our home, and he had to come when called. Most importantly, he had to listen to me. We have had many dogs, but having a dog that obeys my rules is brand new to me. In four one hour visits and constant text messages back and forth, Monica taught me how to train a dog, taught me about why they behave the way that they do, taught me how to correct unwanted behavior as it occurred, and subsequently I now have the well trained dog in the neighborhood who is praised by all that meet him.

"Our dog, Rigley, has been going to Monica’s since he was a puppy and we would not consider going anywhere else. Monica was recommended by our veterinarian and she was absolutely right. Rigley received a month of in-home training by living with Monica when he was a puppy. Upon his return, she taught our family how to work with him and the tools we would need to continue his training. His “attention seeking” puppy behaviors were redirected into attentiveness to us and the new commands that he was taught. Rigley also had food digestive issues. No veterinarian could find a solution. When I discussed this problem with Monica, she met me at the dog food store to find a new diet. Monica found a solution that worked on her first try. It is comforting having Rigley in a home atmosphere, playing with other dogs and not being restricted to a kennel when we have to leave him. We have received text message updates with pictures and comments to let us know that Rigley is doing well and having fun. We would and have recommended Monica to anyone who wants the best love and care for their dog. She is a true professional, compassionate caretaker and expert in her field."

"Monica helped us work with our adult rescue dog to significantly reduce his growling and aggression towards other dogs in the neighborhood. She is a dog whisperer in real life. The first time she sat on the couch, our pup was so comfortable with her, he turned over to have his belly rubbed. Outside during training she really showed her understanding of dog behavior and gave us tools that we could incorporate into our daily routine. In addition to being wonderful with the dogs, she is also great communicator who is very quick to answer questions via text. Her kenneling program is as convenient as it is reasonably priced.
